About Us

Our Professional translator/interpreter/editor is Dr. Ahmed Alkilabi (PhD, Wales) a professor of applied linguistics and former dean of the Faculty of Languages & Translation, University of Kufa. At present, he works at the University of Al-Kafeel, in An-Najaf Al-Ashraf, Iraq. Professor Alkilabi served as the Head of English Department at the College of Applied Sciences, Nizwa, Sultanate of Oman and at the College of Arts, University of Kufa, Iraq for many years. He has teaching experience and research in the fields of ESL/EFL and applied linguistics. He has taught many courses in these two fields to undergraduate students for more than three decades at various institutions of higher education in Iraq, Jordan and Oman, and Canada. These courses include ESL/EFL courses at various levels of proficiency, EFL Writing, ELT Methods, Introduction to Linguistics, Introduction to Applied Linguistics, English Grammar, Syntax, Phonetics, Language Acquisition, ELT School Curriculum Analysis, Research Methods, and Translation. He has published extensively appertaining to assessing students’ writing, establishing objective procedures for scoring students’ essays and predicting their writing ability in a second language. He has taught several courses at the postgraduate levels as well as translation and interpreting courses in departments of English in Iraq, Jordan, and Oman.
His research interests include second language acquisition, SLA writing, digital learning and teaching, and translation and interpreting.
